Carriage Mounted Spreader Bars - This kind of mast includes three parts as the name implies. The external section is connected securely to the lift vehicle. The next part telescopes inside the mounted exterior section and the interior most part telescopes inside the intermediate part. Both the middle and the internal section elevate and the lift cylinders lengthen. Once again in this model, the fork carriage rides in the internal section. The 3 stage mast provides a shorter lowered height compared to the 2 stage mast. The common usage of the 3 stage mast is in areas like for example doorways where overhead clearances are restricted. This mast is often outfitted with a center cylinder so as to allow the fork carriage elevate some distance before the mast sections commence extension.
The 2 Stage Mast includes two sections. The inner section telescopes in the external and elevates when the lift cylinders extend. The outer section of this particular mast model is affixed to the lift truck. The fork carriage is positioned within the internal section. This particular mast type has a taller lowered height than an equivalent 3 stage mast or lift height quad mast.
